What in the world do i do with the skill points I get? I know what to attribute points are for, as for the skill points I am lost.

They are used in conjunciton with money to buy skills from Skill Trainers. If you have no skill points, you can't buy any (including Signets of Capture). You'll then have to resort to quests for skills or leveling up.

NOTE

if you can get a skill from a quest it is better to save the skill point for later.

better to wind up having extra points than coming up short
